Milestones

Each phase builds on the one before. What is emerging here follows no rigid plan, but the rhythm of the place and the people who shape it.

Phase 1: Securing the foundations

The property is secured long-term through a 999-year lease. Initial works have made the site accessible and habitable. The terrain was cleared for access, basic supply established, the foundation for everything that follows laid.

Completed

Phase 2: Habitable and permitted

The site is being developed to meet the requirements for a licensed accommodation under Portuguese law. The existing stone house is being structurally upgraded, the infrastructure brought to a standard that meets legal requirements.

Current: Investment needed

Phase 3: Functional for programme

The site becomes a platform. The infrastructure for seminars, workshops and group programmes is being created. Upon completion of this phase, Barranco Spirit will be able to receive seminar leaders, teachers and small groups.
